The dodo bird is an entity that was added on October 2, 2021.
Spawning[]
Natural generation[]
Dodo birds would frequently spawn around maps and could spawn on any block except Tesla Coil Traps, Beehives, Cannon or placed TNT. They had a higher chance of spawning in high places.
Lobby gadget[]
The Dodo bird was unlockable as lobby gadget purchasing the Holiday Bundle 2022. He cannot be dropped and the double jump is disabled.
Lucky Block[]
Dodo birds have a chance to spawn from Lucky Blocks.
Usage[]
Riding[]
Dodo birds can be mounted by pressing F when a player is near one. While riding a dodo bird, the player will move faster but cannot sprint. The player will also be able to double jump and be immune to fall damage. Dodo birds can be dismounted by pressing B or the "Dismount" button above the hotbar. The player will have 40 shield HP while on a dodo bird which acts as the dodo bird's health. Once the shield HP is depleted, the dodo bird will die. The health of the dodo bird will stay the same when the player dismounts it.

Trivia[]
- Any tool can be used while riding a dodo bird.
- There was a bug that when a player re-mounted a dodo bird it would have full health.
- The dodo bird has appeared various times in the Lobby in different seasons. The first being the Season 3 lobby where the dodo bird was frozen in a block of ice, the second being back in Season 6 when the Holiday Bundle 2022 was on sale, and third in Season 8 where a statue of a dodo bird was erected in the middle of the lobby.
- Dodo birds are extinct in real life.
- There is a bug that allows the player to equip two dodo birds at the same time. When one of them dies, the player will stop receiving the buffs but will still display the dodo bird and play its audio.
- The dodo bird is the first bird entity to be added into the game, the second being penguins and the third being battle ducks.
- If a player falls into the void while on a dodo bird while under the effects of the shrink potion, they will continue falling past the void indefinitely.
