Lian is a kit released on February 2, 2024. Her special ability lets her control dragon swords to throw them to enemies. She could've been unlocked by purchasing the Lunar Bundle 2024 for 799 Robux , and currently can be unlocked by purchasing her directly for
399 Robux , by opening her from a lucky crate, or by being gifted her by someone else. She is in the
fighter class.
Abilities[]
Dragon Sword[]
Lian spawns with three dragon swords behind her. Pressing R will make her throw a dragon sword which locks on to a single enemy within an 6 block distance, dealing damage equivalent to 70% of her strongest melee weapon. A single dragon sword takes 12 seconds to regenerate. The ability has a cooldown of 2 seconds, consuming 1 sword each time.
Dragon Sword Ultimate[]
Lian can also perform a secondary, ultimate attack by pressing Q, which will make her use all of her current swords and slam them down in 3 different directions forming a triangle, dealing AOE damage in a 7 block radius at each sword. The damage is equivalent to 120% of her strongest melee weapon. The dragon swords also apply burn, dealing 2 damage per second for 5 seconds. If an enemy is hit by more than 2 Dragon Swords during Lian's ultimate, it will do 1/3 of the original damage from the first Dragon Sword that hit. If Lian uses her ability with less than three swords, slamming the front will be prioritized, then the left, and then right. The ability has a cooldown of 10 seconds.
Strategy[]
With moves that hit hard and can hit harder with the right upgrades, Lian can provide lots of burn damage with her dragon swords that can allow her to win teamfights if she use them correctly. Dragon Sword can provide great value thanks to its extra damage and ability to hit enemies further away than normal, and Dragon Sword Ult is a powerful damaging move that can easily change how a battle is going. Players using Lian get stronger abilities should they get better swords from the shop, so be sure to upgrade your weaponry along with your damage upgrades for consistent damage in late game.
Lian may be a powerful fighter, but she's dependent on her dragon sword count and her own sword's tier. The dragon swords take a while to regenerate, and they won't come back fast enough for you to use them again on a Whim. Additionally, it can be very easy to waste them all on accident with Dragon Sword Ult, a move that should be reserved as a final move when you're about to run out of swords. Even if you can save your dragon swords, they won't matter if your sword tier is not decently leveled. Because of this, you should buy a better sword when you have spare resources, preferably an iron sword in early to mid game because of the abundance of iron and the serviceable damage it does.
Dragon Sword serves to provide a damage advantage in battle the moment you use it, and It's effectiveness in battle is more prominent should you use more than one. It's additional range advantage over conventional sword fighting means you can start a battle with more health than the opponent. Sending 2 usually does the job in winning a battle, but there's nothing wrong in sending 3 for even more damage. However, you should be saving a sword for certain moments in battle, such as when the enemy is running or when you can activate Dragon Sword Ult instead. There's enough knockback for a single sword to strike someone off a bridge, so feel free to go for a void kill every once in a while. Just don't depend on the move as a knockback move, it was mainly designed for and is better for damage than knockback. One thing to note is that you're unable to use your weapon during the ability animation. Because of this, be careful when you activate this ability because you can get hit during the animation, potentially causing a negative interaction where you lose more health than the enemy.
Dragon Sword Ultimate is a very powerful move should it hit the enemy, and there's a very likely chance it will hit. It's hitbox is deceptively large, taking up a substantial portion of the field and extending further than what the shattered part of the ground would say. This becomes extremely easy to hit with all 3 swords, but It's a bad idea because only one of the swords will hit an enemy for full damage while the rest do only partial damage, so this move is usually best used when you only have one sword. If you do use 2 or all 3 swords, use it in big crowds to maximize damage. When it does hit, you'll have a major advantage in battle because of the armor penetrating and burn inducing ability dealing tons of damage, especially in late game. This ability can also provide tons of knockback and is easier to get void kills with it, but like the other ability this move was designed for damage in mind. Like the non-ultimate move, you're unable to use your weapon during the ability animation, so you have to watch out when you activate this move as well. As the Ultimate also deals burn damage, it provides a great opportunity for a disengage since the ultimate actually knocks back people per burn.
For Lian's choice of enchants, enchants that synergize well with her Dragon Sword and Dragon Sword Ult prove to be the best for her. The best enchant for her would be Static, as the 2 seconds between damage bursts is always ready to proc again should you use either of Lian's abilities. For example, you can throw 2 back-to-back Dragon Swords and they'd both proc static's extra damage due to the move having a 2 second cooldown. You could also use Dragon Sword and then follow up with Dragon Sword Ult, an interaction that successfully works because of the latter move's fire ticks compensating for the fast activation of the ultimate. The other best enchant is Life Steal, as this makes her abilities become on demand healing, and her Dragon Sword Ult can abuse its huge damage for a burst heal & damage over time effect for tick-based healing, albeit for minimal effects. Fire doesn't work so effectively as the already existing fire from Dragon Sword Ult overrides any Fire enchant tier you may get, but it's not so bad if you're using it on Dragon Sword.
Lian is a powerful fighter with her dragon swords as it allows her to deal extra damage, knock her enemies around, and engage encounters with an early advantage. She's dependent on how well you can use her swords, but effective usage will lead to great results. Both moves can prove to be advantageous in a variety of ways, and their main usage in damaging opponents is greatly done. Just remember to upgrade your sword as the damage scaling can be forgettable, and It's not that hard to purchase an Iron Sword or better at the end of the day. Remember to also go for damage upgrades as they work really well with her swords, putting her moves on par or beyond normal sword damage.
