Noelle is a kit added on the November 17, 2023. Her special entities are slimes, which grant various buffs to her, and her special item is the slime flute, which allows her to direct her buffs to allies. She could be unlocked by reaching level 40 in the Season 9 Battle Pass. She is in the support class.
Abilities[]
Slime Flute[]
- Main article: Slime Flute
Noelle spawns and starts the match with the slime flute, which she can use to make any bought slimes focus onto a teammate, granting them the buffs the slimes give. She can switch slimes between different teammates and take them back at any time.
Cycle Slime[]
Pressing Z will allow Noelle to cycle between all the current slimes she has on her, and the currently selected slime can be directed or recalled from a teammate by pressing Q.
Direct/Recall Slime[]
Pressing X will allow Noelle to direct or recall a slime, depending on if the slime is currently following her or a teammate. If the slime is following her, she can order the slime onto an ally, and the slime's buffs will apply to the recipient. Directing a slime can be done by cycling to the slime you want to order by pressing Z and waiting for the grass-like aura to appear around the teammate you want to support, then by pressing X, the slime will be ordered to follow that teammate until they die, in which then you must redirect the slime back onto them. Dying as Noelle while slimes are assisting teammates will not bring the slimes back to you upon respawn. However if a slime is following a teammate, cycling to that slime and pressing X will immediately bring the slime back to you. This ability has a 1 second cooldown.
Slimes[]
- Main article: Slime
Noelle can also buy four different slime variants from the Item Shop for 2-3 Emeralds, which can be used to buff her or others if the slime flute is used. Each slime grants its own unique buff that can be upgraded by passive friendship to enhance the effectiveness of the buff. While holding the slime flute, there will be a GUI on the left of the screen that shows what buff percentages the slimes provide signified by a heart (resembling friendship) and which slimes she has.
Strategy[]
Noelle's slimes can provide a variety of useful buffs once she can acquire the Emeralds and training necessary for her slimes. With the power to aid herself and her allies with offensive and supportive buffs that can encompass different needs, Noelle is a versatile support who can change many interactions thanks to her potent effects. She needs a lot of time to train her slimes to their fullest potential. Additionally, rush for Emeralds because she requires a lot of them to purchase all of her slimes.
Noelle's slime flute is just as important as the slimes she earns as it lets her remotely support her allies while also controlling who gets the buffs. You should know when and what kinds of buffs to give to your allies or yourself to maximize their usage and train them quickly. If someone is currently low on health or gets hurt often, give them the Blessed Slime. If there's a person on your team that likes to fight, pair them up with the Void and/or the Frost Slime. Is someone dedicated towards collecting resources across the map? They should be given the Sticky Slime. Try not to give all of your slimes to a single person unless you know It's a good idea. The best times to give or take your slimes aren't necessarily when someone is departing or returning to the base. Sometimes you might have to act on a whim and provide buffs in the midst of battle, and other times you need to know when to retract a slime when you're in trouble. Become experienced with the different scenarios you might find yourself in, and practice cycling through your flute quickly to give your slimes as quickly as possible.
The slimes themselves come with buffs that are powerful, even if they're not fully trained. The Blessed Slime heals based on missing health, making its healing more potent the lower a person's health is. The Void Slime provides a damage percentage increase that can be very helpful in battle. The Frost Slime applies a slow debuff that can prevent enemies from running, securing kills for whoever has this slime. The Sticky Slime gives a chance to duplicate resources collected, providing a strong economic advantage should one get lucky. Despite their powerful buffs, it is advised to distribute the slimes amongst the team to mitigate the buff decrease, but feel free to give two or more if you know how to make the most of the buffs while leveling them all up simultaneously. You can also apply all of the slimes to a single person once they're all fully trained, resulting in no buff decrease at all.
Noelle's slimes complement the enchants very well, further encouraging the usage of one. Most notable of the enchants are two of them. Fire synergizes well with the Frost Slime as any damage essentially stunts an enemy's movement while dealing extra damage. Life Steal works great with the Blessed Slime by creating a double healing set up that can outheal many enemies, and the Void Slime helps Life Steal heal even further.
Noelle synergizes well with other kits who have abilities that match well with the buffs she can provide. For example, kits such as Sheila and Trinity can synergize well with the Blessed Slime to outheal threats. The Blessed Slime also works with tankier and evasive characters such as Gingerbread Man. Kits such as Barbarian, Aery, and other hard hitting kits benefit with the Void Slime. Kits that can rush their enemies such as Elektra, Yuzi, and Void Regent can pair up with the Frost Slime to prevent fleeing, and they also work well with the Sticky Slime if they're traversing the map for resources.
Because of the useful and diverse buffs she is able to provide, Noelle is a great support if the team plays actively and does many things. Once her team helps to train her slimes, the buffs they provide can easily turn the tides of a match due to how strong they are at what they do. Despite her strengths, she needs a lot of commitment and especially Emeralds if she wants to be used later in the game. However, should you play her right, you'll see that Noelle is as strong as she is capable at supporting her teammates. Just be nice and try not to keep the slimes all for yourself, as her or her teammate.
