Nyx is a kit added in the March 18, 2022 update. It could be unlocked by reaching level 50 in the Season 4 Battle Pass. Rather than a special item, Nyx has a special ability that can trigger the darkness of Midnight.

Movement class Abilities[]

Midnight[]

Midnight damage

V

Dealing 120 damage fills up a bar which allows Nyx to activate her Midnight ability for 10 seconds by pressing V. When activated, the world darkens as the sky turns black, and all of the player's attacks will deal Midnight damage which increases her damage every time she hits an enemy with her sword by 6% up to 30% against enemies without armor. She also has 15% armor penetration. Midnight affects everything that inflicts damage, such as Bows, Fireballs, Enchants, and others. Nyx also receives a 10% speed boost while in Midnight Mode, but has a 10% armor reduction.

Nyx can fill up her ability bar during midnight up to 1 hit before it's full. Damaging enemies that have died in the last 10 seconds will not fill up the bar.

= damage | = cooldown

Ranged class Strategy[]

A fighter kit whose damage can ramp up dramatically should she be able to build up her Midnight, Nyx can prove to be a dangerous threat that does not rely on having to earn kills to make the most of her ability. While she may be powerful without the need to kill opponents, she still needs to damage her foes to gain and use her ability, so building up damage is needed for players in the early game or when they can't replenish their ability before Midnight ends. Realistically speaking, her ability is meant to be used with her sword to make it work properly. Her increase in damage is powerful once it does proc, and its armor penetration makes it even more effective at dealing with armored enemies. You should get used to the world around you getting dark, as not being able to adjust to the change in lighting can cause accidental void deaths. You should also learn how to easily fill your ability bar with methods other than direct sword fighting.

The ability bar's damage building mechanic is quite easy to understand. All you need to do is deal 120 damage, which is in practice worth a kill and another engagement with an enemy. This bar also builds up to almost full during Midnight so you can recharge and activate the Midnight ability consecutive times should the ability run out. If you're not planning to fight an enemy head on but wish to fill your ability bar, using ranged weaponry or items such as fireballs can help with this. This ability bar is most easily filled up in direct sword combat, so It'll most likely fill up to full in close quarters fights. It's important to always have a filled ability bar at the ready as It'll allow you to engage a fight immediately or activate it quickly should you be attacked by someone. Try not to be baited in using your ability and wasting the ability bar, a thing that happens more often than you may think it does.

Midnight's main appeal is the fact that it works amazing when built up to its fullest potential. A 30% damage boost is nothing to scoff at, and the 15% armor penetration means getting stronger armor won't completely mitigate the midnight damage. This ability is mainly used with your sword, building up Midnight quickly and making the most of its ever increasing damage boost with swift strikes that'll hit hard soon enough. It's not that effective with ranged weapons due to their lackluster fire rate causing inefficiency at ramping up Midnight, which also consequentially makes them hard to damage boost properly, especially if you miss your shots. With this in mind, use Midnight with your sword whenever you do activate it to make the most of the increased damage. One neglected part of this ability is the fact that it makes the world dark, a potentially disastrous effect should you be fighting somewhere already dark or when fighting next to the void. You'll have to get used to this as it is a side effect you pay to live with in order to earn a massive boon to your damage.

Nyx's ability provides an immense damage increase that's not dependent on enchants. If you were to pick up any enchant however, you have your standard options laid out for you. Fire and Static will be the usual extra damage sources, and they actually benefit from Midnight's damage boost. Fire will deal more chip damage, and static will burst for more damage while helping to fill the ability bar against multiple enemies. Life Steal works well with Midnight, utilizing the extra damage for stronger healing. A surprisingly good option for Nyx is Critical Strike, resulting in powerful ramping hits that pierce armor and can crit for potentially insane damage.

Nyx can be a strong fighter kit with a sizeable damage difference should she trigger Midnight during close quarters battles. This ability's damage requisite is not too hard to fulfill, and the damage ramping is easily increased and effectively used should you attack quickly with your sword. With Midnight, you'll be able to outperform against enemies who are not ready to handle the oncoming onslaught of empowered strikes, and you can swiftly fill the ability bar to reactivate Midnight again. In summary, Nyx is dominant when it comes to damage dealing in close quarters should she be able to activate Midnight and ramp up her damage, but try not to fall on accident. After all, nobody wants to waste their entire ability just because they fell into the void.
