Penguin Survival was a limited-time game mode that was introduced in the January 21, 2022 update and re-added on July 22, 2022. It was removed on August 5, 2022. It was later re-added on May 23, 2024 as apart of Roblox The Classic event.
Overview[]
Version 1[]
In this version, players had to survive against AI-controlled penguins that target their bed and anyone that attacks them. There are 4 emerald and diamond generators spread throughout the map. Once the bed is destroyed, players will be unable to respawn. Every few minutes, a new penguin type will spawn for the rest of the match. At nearly the end, the penguins will have their speed significantly increased. After surviving for 10 minutes, the players will win.
Version 2[]
In this new revised version, players still had to defend their beds against AI-controlled penguins. The difference is they come in waves, up to wave 10. Surviving a wave gives players 20s to prepare for the next one. Each wave gets much harder than the last and is overall more difficult than its predecessor. There are also 3 defensive blocks exclusive to this mode and blocks can be purchased at a lower cost.
There are even more penguin types which are more powerful than the ones faced in the previous version. At the final wave, players will face the penguin king himself. Players must protect their bed at all costs because once it is broken, the penguins will be significantly stronger, faster, and tougher.
Playing this mode once will grant the 'Penguin Deal With It' emote and winning the mode rewards 'Penguin King Trophy' emote. There is an additional challenge which gives an emote and can be completed by surviving 10 waves against penguins while dealing more than 3000 damage and taking less than 100 damage.
Version 3[]
In the Roblox Classic version of Penguin Survival, there were no changes to the main objective, with the goal still being to survive all 10 waves. 2 tix can be found around the map as part of the event, and tokens can be earned by surviving wave 3, 6, 8, 9, and 10 as part of the event. In this version, the Healing Banner was added to the shop, granting consistent healing where placed near players. All blocks and the maps were changed to use default Roblox studs textures with only one color.

Reduced Cost[]
Some block's prices were decreased in the second version.

Penguins[]
- Main article: Penguin
Penguins would start spawning at 0:30 seconds in the match or would spawn at the first wave. They could build and would attempt to destroy the players' bed. They would also damage players that attacked them while doing so. Once destroyed, all penguins would target nearby players until they are all dead. Every time a player died, the penguin's attack damage was increased. In the second version, after the penguins broke the bed, the penguins would receive a 50% speed bonus, their attack would increase by 450%, and their health would increase by 200%. At 6:47 in the first version, they would move faster. Penguins also had infinite blocks to build bridges with.

Trivia[]
Version 1
- When the penguins' movement speed increased, "In The Hall Of The Mountain King" by Edvard Grieg started playing.
- The emote obtained for winning was bugged at release and was the same as the "Penguin Fall" emote.
- Sometimes, players spawned with 2 stacks of 64 arrows. The second stack of arrows was bugged and isn't actually there.
- Penguins could build on places regular players couldn't build on. This allowed them to place blocks at the generator, build past the height limit, and build multiple blocks below the map.
- Players would sometimes spawn in spectator mode or would be in the spectator box until they died or left.
- Sometimes, the messages would be put onscreen before or after the time they're supposed to appear.
- Tall penguins could ignore armor protection such as emerald armor as they could do 18 damage to someone without armor protection upgrades.
- This was the first gamemode to include only one bed.
Version 2
- The bed originally had 500 health but due to its difficulty, it was raised to 750.
- This map has the bed in the center of the map, unlike the original having it outside of the base.
- In The Hall of The Mountain King is not in this version, being replaced with its own music.
- It took about 30 minutes from the release for someone to beat the penguins.
- It took nearly an hour from the release for someone to beat hard mode.
- Although having one bed, it has 4 generators, unlike the original only having one.
