Whim is a kit added on September 23, 2022. His special item is the mage spellbook, which lets him shoot magical orbs that can have elements applied to them by finding and reading the 3 tomes of the Elements. He could be unlocked by reaching level 25 in the Season 6 Battle Pass. He is in the fighter class.
Abilities[]
Mage spellbook[]
- Main article: Mage Spellbook
Whim starts the match and spawns with a mage spellbook, which he can use to shoot out magical orbs at enemies, dealing 20 damage with a 1.1 second cooldown. These orbs apply light knockback when they hit enemies.
Elemental Knowledge[]
- Main article: Tome of the Elements
30 seconds into the match, a tome of knowledge will spawn around the center of the map indicated by the announcement
ELEMENTAL KNOWLEDGE AWAITS... |
---|
A beam of light will guide the player to where it is located. More tomes will spawn throughout the match 180 seconds after collecting the previous tome until all 3 tomes are collected. Reading the tome will let Whim apply one of three elements into his orbs in a pre-set order: Nature, Fire and Ice that appear every 3rd orb shot. Eventually when all three tomes are read, Whim's orbs when shot will permanently have an element applied to them. Their element will cycle between Nature, Fire and Ice without any non-element orbs thrown at all.
Element | Damage | Additional Effects |
---|---|---|
Nature | 35 | Heals the user 10% of the base damage per second on a successful hit for 3 seconds. |
Fire | 37 | Applies a burn status effect to enemies hit, dealing rapid damage until the effect wears off or the enemy reaches low health. |
Ice | 40 | Applies the Grounded effect to enemies hit. |
Drawbacks[]
Because Whim is a mage, he specializes in magic, which means he cannot use melee weapons properly. This means that he deals 20% less damage with them, while also taking 10% more damage from all sources.
